Magnesium Chloride is extracted from water with a high salt content, such as the Great Salt Lake & Dead Sea, though these sources can be more exposed to modern-day contamination and variable mineral composition. Zechstein Magnesium Chloride is extracted from the ancient Zechstein seabed underground in Northwest Europe, which is one of the purest sources of Magnesium ever, containing the lowest contaminant levels in the world. This is because the Zechstein Sea was isolated from modern oceans over 250 million years ago, with deposits preserved deep underground and shielded from surface contaminants ever since. Our pure Magnesium Chloride is extracted by solution mining. Magnesium chloride is also considered to be better absorbed through the skin than Epsom salts (magnesium sulphate).
Many people make magnesium oil at home; however, it is strongly advised using only ultra-pure zero p.p.m steam distilled water, NOT TAP OR BOTTLED WATER. Water companies routinely add liquefied chlorine, fluorosilicic acid, aluminium sulphate, calcium hydroxide and sodium silicofluoride to the water supply and pollutants such as hormones, parabens, nitrates, weed killers, lead, barium, beryllium, uranium, arsenic, and many more can also be found.
Bottled water is less polluted, but some brands contain over 10,000 microscopic plastic particles per litre, hence our use of only our own quad filtered steam distilled water in the production of our magnesium chloride oil in our own clean room.
Use 2-4 handfuls in the bath (roughly 250g) or 1-2 handfuls in a warm foot soak (roughly 150g). Mix the flakes around until fully dissolved. Soak for a minimum of 20 minutes to get the full benefit. The flakes are easily dissolved in warm water. Can be used with distilled water to make a transdermal Magnesium Oil.
